Wabi-sabi is a philosophy centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.
The Japanese art Kintsugi, repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, should also be applied to our own life. The breakages we mend are worth more and we become more true to ourselves. Because of our personal history, we are who we are now.
The wabi-sabi approach makes you embrace the imperfections in yourself because, in the end, it is what shaped you into who you are.
